This position conducts sanitation inspections on food facilities and labor camps to determine compliance with state regulations pertaining to standards of purity, quality and sanitation. Work includes sampling food products to determine safety and compliance of products to standards and regulations and sending samples as necessary to the Food Safety Laboratory, Harrisburg; and assisting in the investigation of complaints of food products, sanitation conditions and other related problems when notified by consumers or other regulatory agencies.
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements - one year as a Food Inspector 1; OR two years of experience in the inspection of food establishments or food processing facilities, and a bachelor's degree in food science, food technology, or a closely related field; ORan equivalent combination of experience and training.
