A Safety Engineer job is available with Kelly Engineering Services in the Houston, TX area for electrical and construction energy company. Your responsible for working on site with transmission lines and that type of experience. Looking for experience engineering with environmental health and safety roles and discipline. You will work with team to develop project charters, safety, engineer projects, support construction and provide engineering assistance through the startup of projects. And work on projects involving ISO s, equipment design, and estimating products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establishing a strong safety culture, taking a leadership role and demonstrating safety commitment through contact with Company
  • Developing and implementing the contracting strategy for the scope of work.
  • Support and hold employees and contractors accountable for the System Safety Process, ensuring a safe working environment focused on Commitment to Zero Harm .
  • Provide safety procedures to ensure compliance with construction standards and safety regulations and promotes safe operating practices and provides effective responses to emergencies.
  • Follow specific instructions of supervisor or experienced staff to perform the less complex professional assignments requiring application of standard construction principles and practices
  • Experience in with electrical industry consensus standards such as NFPA, NESC, ASTM, and a ANSI CPR/FA Certified Trainer Preferred
  • Provide wide range of detailed guidance, instruction, and training to improve design, systems, procedures, processes, schedules, and costs.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor s Degree in construction management, Engineering, Business or related field of study.
  • Must have 5 years in construction safety experience utility construction safety experience preferred .
  • Must have 5 years in T D construction preferred OSHA 30 Construction required 500 / 510 preferred
  • Must have 1 year Preferred Electrical Construction:
  • Must have1 year Required Excel: 1-year Preferred Safety Construction:
  • Must have 3 years Required License: OSHA 510
  • Preferred Safety includes the development and implementation of procedures to protect employees, contract personnel and visitors and to ensure the safety of the physical plant and adjacent areas. It also consists of the co-ordination of inspections and the instruction of staff in safety measures.
  • Safety also ensures compliance with construction standards and safety regulations and promotes safe operating practices and provides effective responses to emergencies.
  • Follow specific instructions of supervisor or experienced staff to perform the less complex professional assignments requiring application of standard construction principles and practices
  • Understanding of electrical industry consensus standards such as NFPA, NESC, ASTM, and ANSI CPR/FA Certified Trainer Preferred
  • Ability to work independently, strong communication skills with ability to influence behaviors
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. Safety certification is desired Microsoft Office
